Understanding the Opposite Sex–A Relationship Study Group

Want to find out what you don’t know about the differences between the sexes that may be sabotaging your relationships?  Have you always wanted the Secret Decoder Ring to understand women?  Have you been longing for the dictionary and thesaurus for “MENglish?”

Take ten–ten months to transform your understanding of the opposite sex and the way YOU show up in relationship–in every relationship in your life–with romantic partners, parents, siblings, children, co-workers, bosses, clients…the list is endless.

Our group will meet twice a month.  At the first monthly meeting I’ll present a concept/new perspective from the PAX Programs’ curriculum (http://www.understandmen.com), and we’ll then take this out into the world together.  Then, at the second meeting, we’ll reconvene to discover what we’ve learned, shared, and how the applied concept changed the way we relate to others.

The meetings are on a love donation basis.  I will graciously accept donations based on the value you receive from the material.  The important thing is creating transformation.  In exchange, I’ll also ask for your feedback and support while I’m in training with PAX Programs to learn how to present their material.  It’s an inexpensive way to be introduced to many of the PAX concepts in a safe, small group setting with individual attention.

The full schedule of dates is posted below.  This is going to be a journey of gestating a new way of relating to the opposite sex!  We’ll meet between June 2009 and March 2010.

Is it time to birth a new way to be in relationship in your life?  Is it time to learn how to create healthy, fulfilling and meaningful relationships with yourself and others?

You may attend all (or select month by month) sessions you wish to attend.  Anyone may join the circle at the first Teaching Meeting of the month.  If you have to miss the month’s Teaching Meeting where we learn about the topic, no problem.  There will be a recording of the material that you can listen to so that you can “catch up”.

Possible topics include:

• How men and women literally see the world differently;
• How our listening styles are different;
• The provider and the supporter, How the bigger and the stronger influences behavior;
• Our different reactions to feelings and opinions;
• The effects of appreciation and criticism;
• The effects of attraction and chemistry;
• Pitfalls of objectification;
• Safety for men and women: what creates it and it’s effect on us;
• What “love”, “support”, “respect”, and “affection” look like to men and women; What each provides for us and our partners.

Here are the dates we’ll be meeting.  Remember the first date is the TEACHING meeting; the second is the DISCUSSION meeting.  The class runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Casa Kaliani.  Please RSVP for address and directions (see above).
